| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Newton County lost a beloved resident and an admired |

| 6 | 7 | | community leader with the passing of County Judge Ronnie Boyett on |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Boyett was born on May 22, 1948, to James H. |

| 9 | 10 | | and Lillian Patterson Boyett in Newton; he was a lifelong resident |

| 10 | 11 | | of the city and the former owner of the Newton Feed Store; he ran for |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | the position of Newton County judge in 2014 and was unopposed in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | both the primary and the general election; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Judge Boyett enjoyed a rewarding family life with |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | his wife, Martha, and their children, Wade and Tina; as his extended |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | family grew, he delighted in spending time with his four |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ronnie Boyett was a devoted family man and an |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | outstanding community leader, and his commitment to his loved ones |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and to Newton County will be remembered for years to come; now, |

| 20 | 21 | | therefore, be it |

| 21 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 22 | 23 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of the Honorable Ronnie |
