| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert Sutherland has been named a 2014 Corpus |

| 7 | 8 | | recognition of his achievements in the Career category; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Caller-Times/Citgo South Texas Distinguished |

| 9 | 10 | | Scholars program was established to reward local students who have |

| 10 | 11 | | demonstrated excellence in such areas as academics, athletics, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | leadership, and community service; since its inception in 1988, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | some 480 young men and women have been selected for this prestigious |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | honor, with the winners each receiving a stipend to assist with |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | postsecondary education expenses; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The son of Robert and Marissa Sutherland, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Mr. Sutherland is a senior at King High School; aspiring to a career |

| 17 | 18 | | in welding, he is gaining experience in the trade by taking courses |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | at the Craft Training Center of the Coastal Bend and by working with |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | his grandfather, who is a certified welder; Mr. Sutherland plans to |

| 20 | 21 | | attend vocational school after graduating; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has pursued his goals |

| 22 | 23 | | with tremendous dedication, and he may take great pride in all that |

| 23 | 24 | | he has accomplished as he looks ahead to a future bright with |

| 24 | 25 | | promise; now, therefore, be it |
