H.R. No. 2957 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Albert Edward Baade Jr. of Tyler on April 6, 2014, at the age of 87; and WHEREAS, Albert Baade was born in Dallas on April 30, 1926, to Albert E. Baade Sr. and Jewell Bryant Baade; he served the United States Navy with distinction in the Pacific theater during World War II, earning two battle stars for his efforts, and after he returned home, he earned his bachelor's degree from Baylor University; and WHEREAS, Mr. Baade began his career in the oil industry as an oil scout, working with his uncle, W. T. Bryant; a respected member of the profession, he was a founding member of the East Texas Association of Petroleum Landmen and an original board member of the Tyler Petroleum Club; later, he was employed as the dean of continuing education at Tyler Junior College, where he helped to develop and organize a curriculum for the real estate and petroleum landman program; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Baade enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Elizabeth, with whom he shared 64 years before her passing; he was also the proud father of a son, William Brandon, and as his extended family grew, he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, Brandon, Carolyn, and Alexandra, and his great-grandchildren, Savannah and William; and WHEREAS, Although Albert Baade is deeply missed, memories of his good humor, his enthusiasm, and his quiet strength remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Albert Edward Baade Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Albert Baade.
