| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Greenville High School |

| 7 | 8 | | the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship, held April |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the FIRST robotics |

| 10 | 11 | | competitions encourage young people's interest in science and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | technology by challenging school teams to build and program a robot |

| 12 | 13 | | to carry out a specific task; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Robowranglers honed their skills throughout the |

| 14 | 15 | | season, and they were finalists at the Dallas regional event in |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | February and then triumphed as the regional champions in Las Vegas, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Nevada, in March; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, At the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, |

| 18 | 19 | | Missouri, the Robowranglers won third place overall; they also |

| 19 | 20 | | received an Industrial Design Award, which recognizes form and |

| 20 | 21 | | function in an effective and efficiently designed machine; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through their participation in this exciting and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | demanding program, the members of the Greenville High Robowranglers |

| 23 | 24 | | have enhanced their knowledge and skills while learning important |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | lessons about cooperation and self-confidence, and they may indeed |

| 25 | 26 | | take pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 27 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Greenville High School |

| 28 | 29 | | Robowranglers on their success at the 2015 FIRST Robotics |
