H.R. No. 3020 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The members of the Greenville High School Robowranglers distinguished themselves with their performance at the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship, held April 22 through 25; and WHEREAS, Established in 1989, the FIRST robotics competitions encourage young people's interest in science and technology by challenging school teams to build and program a robot to carry out a specific task; and WHEREAS, The Robowranglers honed their skills throughout the season, and they were finalists at the Dallas regional event in February and then triumphed as the regional champions in Las Vegas, Nevada, in March; and WHEREAS, At the FIRST World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri, the Robowranglers won third place overall; they also received an Industrial Design Award, which recognizes form and function in an effective and efficiently designed machine; and WHEREAS, Through their participation in this exciting and demanding program, the members of the Greenville High Robowranglers have enhanced their knowledge and skills while learning important lessons about cooperation and self-confidence, and they may indeed take pride in a job well done; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the Greenville High School Robowranglers on their success at the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship and extend to all those involved with the team sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Robowranglers as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
