| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Grace School of Theology, a Houston-based |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Initially known as Houston Theological Seminary, |

| 9 | 10 | | Grace School of Theology was incorporated on May 29, 2001, by a |

| 10 | 11 | | group of seven men who would become the institution's board of |

| 11 | 12 | | trustees; the school opened in the fall of 2002, with classes held |

| 12 | 13 | | at Cypress Bible Church, in Cypress, and at Faith Bible Church of |

| 13 | 14 | | The Woodlands; the seminary later moved its classrooms and academic |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | offices to locations on and near the College of Biblical Studies |

| 15 | 16 | | campus in Southwest Houston; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Led by school president Dr. Dave Anderson and board |

| 17 | 18 | | chair Dr. Glenn Darby, two of the original trustees, Grace School |

| 18 | 19 | | of Theology attracts students with a variety of backgrounds, |

| 19 | 20 | | ranging from current pastors and church staff to laypeople wanting |

| 20 | 21 | | to put their ministry gifts to use; the reach of the institution has |

| 21 | 22 | | expanded with the establishment of online instruction, as well as |

| 22 | 23 | | additional teaching locations in Beaumont, San Antonio, and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Since its inception, Grace School of Theology has |

| 25 | 26 | | helped many Texans develop the knowledge and wisdom necessary to |

| 26 | 27 | | become religious leaders in their communities, and the school's |

| 27 | 28 | | faculty and staff are indeed deserving of recognition for their |

| 28 | 29 | | innumerable contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby honor Grace School of Theology for its service |

| 32 | 33 | | and extend to its administration, faculty, staff, and students |

| 33 | 34 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
