H.R. No. 3127 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Grace School of Theology, a Houston-based evangelical institution, is providing a quality religious education to a growing number of students; and WHEREAS, Initially known as Houston Theological Seminary, Grace School of Theology was incorporated on May 29, 2001, by a group of seven men who would become the institution's board of trustees; the school opened in the fall of 2002, with classes held at Cypress Bible Church, in Cypress, and at Faith Bible Church of The Woodlands; the seminary later moved its classrooms and academic offices to locations on and near the College of Biblical Studies campus in Southwest Houston; and WHEREAS, Led by school president Dr. Dave Anderson and board chair Dr. Glenn Darby, two of the original trustees, Grace School of Theology attracts students with a variety of backgrounds, ranging from current pastors and church staff to laypeople wanting to put their ministry gifts to use; the reach of the institution has expanded with the establishment of online instruction, as well as additional teaching locations in Beaumont, San Antonio, and Midland; and WHEREAS, Since its inception, Grace School of Theology has helped many Texans develop the knowledge and wisdom necessary to become religious leaders in their communities, and the school's faculty and staff are indeed deserving of recognition for their innumerable contributions to the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby honor Grace School of Theology for its service and extend to its administration, faculty, staff, and students sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
