| 11 | 12 | | designed to encourage UTPA students to pursue careers in public |

| 12 | 13 | | service; Ms. Marin has worked in the Capitol office of |

| 13 | 14 | | Representative Canales, where she has handled a range of important |

| 14 | 15 | | responsibilities over the course of the legislative session; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Marin is a senior at UTPA, where she is majoring |

| 16 | 17 | | in political science and minoring in legal studies, English, and |

| 17 | 18 | | Spanish; an alumna of Subiendo: The Academy for Rising Leaders, she |

| 18 | 19 | | is an active member of the Pre-Law Society and the Political Science |

| 19 | 20 | | Association, and she has also interned for State Senator Juan |

| 20 | 21 | | "Chuy" Hinojosa and State Representative Veronica Gonzales; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has performed her duties as |

| 22 | 23 | | a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she has gained |

| 23 | 24 | | valuable leadership experience while learning more about the issues |

| 24 | 25 | | confronting citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 26 | 27 | | Legislature hereby honor Lesley Andrea Marin for her participation |
