 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Lesley Andrea Marin of Edinburg has rendered
 outstanding service to her fellow Texans during the 84th
 Legislature as one of the inaugural participants in the Rio Grande
 Valley Legislative Internship Program; and
 WHEREAS, Sponsored by State Representative Terry Canales and
 The University of Texas--Pan American Foundation, this program is
 designed to encourage UTPA students to pursue careers in public
 service; Ms. Marin has worked in the Capitol office of
 Representative Canales, where she has handled a range of important
 responsibilities over the course of the legislative session; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Marin is a senior at UTPA, where she is majoring
 in political science and minoring in legal studies, English, and
 Spanish; an alumna of Subiendo: The Academy for Rising Leaders, she
 is an active member of the Pre-Law Society and the Political Science
 Association, and she has also interned for State Senator Juan
 "Chuy" Hinojosa and State Representative Veronica Gonzales; and
 WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has performed her duties as
 a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she has gained
 valuable leadership experience while learning more about the issues
 confronting citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby honor Lesley Andrea Marin for her participation
 in the Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program and extend
 to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Marin as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
