| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Jingyu Liao has ably served her fellow Texans as an |

| 7 | 8 | | during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Liao has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, such as |

| 10 | 11 | | editing bill analyses, managing the calendar, greeting |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | constituents, and preparing materials for hearings; she was also |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | responsible for collecting data, establishing a policy portfolio, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | and interviewing the advocate for House Bill 451; in addition to |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable experience |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | in the field of public service; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Liao is graduating from The University of Texas |

| 18 | 19 | | at Austin in May 2015 with a master of education degree in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | educational policy and planning; she previously earned a bachelor |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | of arts degree in English from Shandong University at Weihai in |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | China in 2012; she founded her own service organization, the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Association of Suncial Workers, in 2011, and she is currently an |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | intern at PenPal Schools, where she develops curriculum and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | translates between Chinese and English; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
