| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Mike Bennett, headmaster of All Saints |

| 6 | 7 | | Episcopal School in Lubbock, is being recognized for his 50 years of |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Before becoming the headmaster of All Saints |

| 9 | 10 | | Episcopal School in 2005, Dr. Bennett worked in public education |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | for four decades; he began his career in 1965 with the Wylie |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Independent School District and joined Lubbock ISD in 1970, where |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | he worked for the next 35 years, serving as junior high and high |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | school principal and director of school public relations, among |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | other positions; additionally, he has taught undergraduate and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | graduate courses at Texas Tech, Wayland Baptist, and McMurry |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Universities; and |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Bennett holds a bachelor's degree in English and |

| 18 | 19 | | speech from McMurry University and a master's degree in |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | administration from Abilene Christian University; he earned his |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | doctorate in education curriculum and instruction at Texas Tech |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | University in 1973; and |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Mike Bennett has |

| 23 | 24 | | exemplified the highest ideals of his profession, fostering a |

| 24 | 25 | | positive educational environment for students while helping to |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | equip them with a sound academic foundation, and he may indeed |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | reflect with pride on his notable achievements; now, therefore, be |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Dr. Mike Bennett for 50 years of service |
