H.R. No. 3237
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Mike Bennett, headmaster of All Saints
Episcopal School in Lubbock, is being recognized for his 50 years of
service in the field of education; and
WHEREAS, Before becoming the headmaster of All Saints
Episcopal School in 2005, Dr. Bennett worked in public education
for four decades; he began his career in 1965 with the Wylie
Independent School District and joined Lubbock ISD in 1970, where
he worked for the next 35 years, serving as junior high and high
school principal and director of school public relations, among
other positions; additionally, he has taught undergraduate and
graduate courses at Texas Tech, Wayland Baptist, and McMurry
Universities; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Bennett holds a bachelor's degree in English and
speech from McMurry University and a master's degree in
administration from Abilene Christian University; he earned his
doctorate in education curriculum and instruction at Texas Tech
University in 1973; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Mike Bennett has
exemplified the highest ideals of his profession, fostering a
positive educational environment for students while helping to
equip them with a sound academic foundation, and he may indeed
reflect with pride on his notable achievements; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Mike Bennett for 50 years of service
in education and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Bennett as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
