H.R. No. 3242 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Dallas Arthur Lee graduated from Stephen F. Austin University on May 16, 2015, with a master's degree in biotechnology; and WHEREAS, Under the direction of Dr. Beatrice A. Clack in the department of biology and biotechnology, Mr. Lee completed a two-year program of academic course work and conducted research to help find a unique compound that would advance the search for a cure for colon cancer; his major research project was titled "Rumex Crispus Phytochemicals: Chemopreventative Potential for Human Colon Carcinoma"; and WHEREAS, Mr. Lee earned a bachelor's degree in geography in 2008 and a bachelor's degree in biology in 2011, both from The University of Texas at Austin; a 2003 graduate of St. Michael's Catholic Academy in Austin, he played on the Crusaders football team for four years; he was also a dedicated member of Boy Scout Troop No. 70, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout in 2000; and WHEREAS, During the 81st Legislative Session, Mr. Lee further distinguished himself through his work in the sergeant-at-arms office for the Texas House of Representatives; and WHEREAS, Dallas Lee has proven himself to be an outstanding scholar and researcher, and his impressive achievements have earned him the lasting respect of his peers, his family, and his friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Dallas Arthur Lee on his graduation from Stephen F. Austin State University and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Lee as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
