| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Anya Callahan has ably served her fellow Texans as |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan's resourcefulness and initiative have |

| 9 | 10 | | earned the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to |

| 10 | 11 | | carrying out Representative Turner's legislative agenda have |

| 11 | 12 | | helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; |

| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Puget Sound, |

| 14 | 15 | | Ms. Callahan earned her bachelor's degree in political science and |

| 15 | 16 | | gender studies; before joining Representative Turner's office, she |

| 16 | 17 | | worked on the gubernatorial campaign of former state senator Wendy |

| 17 | 18 | | Davis as a research associate and before that as a reporter for the |

| 18 | 19 | | Generation Progress website of the Center for American Progress and |

| 19 | 20 | | as editor-in-chief of Wetlands Magazine; in addition, she has |

| 20 | 21 | | worked as a community and campus organizer for NARAL Pro-Choice |

| 21 | 22 | | Washington and as a deputy voter registrar in both Tarrant and |

| 22 | 23 | | Harris Counties; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |

| 24 | 25 | | duties as legislative director with skill and dedication, and she |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
