 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Anya Callahan has ably served her fellow Texans as
 legislative director in the office of State Representative Chris
 Turner during the 84th Legislative Session; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Callahan's resourcefulness and initiative have
 earned the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to
 carrying out Representative Turner's legislative agenda have
 helped address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State;
 and
 WHEREAS, A graduate of the University of Puget Sound,
 Ms. Callahan earned her bachelor's degree in political science and
 gender studies; before joining Representative Turner's office, she
 worked on the gubernatorial campaign of former state senator Wendy
 Davis as a research associate and before that as a reporter for the
 Generation Progress website of the Center for American Progress and
 as editor-in-chief of Wetlands Magazine; in addition, she has
 worked as a community and campus organizer for NARAL Pro-Choice
 Washington and as a deputy voter registrar in both Tarrant and
 Harris Counties; and
 WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her
 duties as legislative director with skill and dedication, and she
 is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby commend Anya Callahan for her service as
 legislative director in the office of State Representative Chris
 Turner and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
 in all her endeavors; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Callahan as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
