45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Emely Rivera is graduating from Pasadena Early
67 College High School on June 4, 2015; and
78 WHEREAS, In undertaking the rigorous PECHS curriculum,
89 Ms. Rivera has completed an accelerated course of study in which
910 she has earned both a high school diploma and an associate's degree
1011 in social and behavioral sciences from San Jacinto Community
1112 College; and
1213 WHEREAS, In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Rivera was
1314 a cadet for three years in the Marine Corps JROTC program, where she
1415 earned the rank of master gunnery sergeant; she plans to transfer to
1516 the University of Houston--Downtown to earn a bachelor's degree in
1617 criminal justice with a focus on forensic science, and eventually
1718 to work in that field as a member of a police department; and
1819 WHEREAS, During her years at PECHS, this accomplished young
1920 Texan has distinguished herself through her skill and
2021 determination, and the knowledge and confidence she has acquired
2122 along the way will serve her well in the years to come; now,
2223 therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby congratulate Emely Rivera on her graduation from
2526 Pasadena Early College High School as a member of the Class of 2015
2627 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
2728 further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for Ms. Rivera as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3031 House of Representatives.
