H.R. No. 3296 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Emely Rivera is graduating from Pasadena Early College High School on June 4, 2015; and WHEREAS, In undertaking the rigorous PECHS curriculum, Ms. Rivera has completed an accelerated course of study in which she has earned both a high school diploma and an associate's degree in social and behavioral sciences from San Jacinto Community College; and WHEREAS, In addition to her academic pursuits, Ms. Rivera was a cadet for three years in the Marine Corps JROTC program, where she earned the rank of master gunnery sergeant; she plans to transfer to the University of Houston--Downtown to earn a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a focus on forensic science, and eventually to work in that field as a member of a police department; and WHEREAS, During her years at PECHS, this accomplished young Texan has distinguished herself through her skill and determination, and the knowledge and confidence she has acquired along the way will serve her well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Emely Rivera on her graduation from Pasadena Early College High School as a member of the Class of 2015 and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Rivera as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
