H.R. No. 410
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Arthur and Bernice Boyd
of Omaha celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
November 28, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd were joined in matrimony in 1944;
they became the parents of three beloved sons, Larry, Phillip, and
Jimmy, and through the years, their treasured family has grown to
include their daughters-in-law, Janie, Connie, and Bonnie, as well
as 8 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4
great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, The couple lived in Lubbock before settling in
Kress, where they farmed for more than three decades; they later
moved to Omaha in northeast Texas, where they are now enjoying
retirement; and
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd have enjoyed seven decades of
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Arthur and Bernice Boyd on their
70th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
