5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Plano Chamber of Commerce has greatly benefited |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Leadership Plano, Mr. Valente has been |

9 | 10 | | a valued member of the chamber since 2011, and he has further |

10 | 11 | | distinguished himself as chair of the Community Relations |

11 | 12 | | Commission of the City of Plano, as a member of the board of |

12 | 13 | | ParkwayHills Baptist Church, and as a committee member for the |

13 | 14 | | Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County; and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Valente holds a bachelor's degree in finance |

15 | 16 | | from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of |

16 | 17 | | Business at New York University, and he has enjoyed a successful |

17 | 18 | | career in the financial industry that has spanned two decades; he |

18 | 19 | | served as vice president of Avatar Associates in New York City and |
---|
19 | 20 | | as second vice president of Smith Barney in New Jersey and Plano |
---|
20 | 21 | | before cofounding the Plano-based wealth management firm Bell & |

21 | 22 | | Valente, LLC, in 2008; and |

22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Valente is blessed with |

23 | 24 | | the love and support of his wife, Hilary; the couple are the proud |

24 | 25 | | parents of three children; and |
---|
25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The civic spirit demonstrated by Al Valente has |

26 | 27 | | significantly contributed to the vibrancy of the Plano community, |

27 | 28 | | and his vision for a prosperous and productive future will continue |

28 | 29 | | to benefit the city's residents for years to come; now, therefore, |
