H.R. No. 571 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, The Plano Chamber of Commerce has greatly benefited from the dynamic leadership of Al Valente in his role as chair of the organization's executive board; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Leadership Plano, Mr. Valente has been a valued member of the chamber since 2011, and he has further distinguished himself as chair of the Community Relations Commission of the City of Plano, as a member of the board of ParkwayHills Baptist Church, and as a committee member for the Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County; and WHEREAS, Mr. Valente holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Virginia Tech and an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, and he has enjoyed a successful career in the financial industry that has spanned two decades; he served as vice president of Avatar Associates in New York City and as second vice president of Smith Barney in New Jersey and Plano before cofounding the Plano-based wealth management firm Bell & Valente, LLC, in 2008; and WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Valente is blessed with the love and support of his wife, Hilary; the couple are the proud parents of three children; and WHEREAS, The civic spirit demonstrated by Al Valente has significantly contributed to the vibrancy of the Plano community, and his vision for a prosperous and productive future will continue to benefit the city's residents for years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Al Valente for his dedicated service as chair of the executive board of the Plano Chamber of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Valente as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
