| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Robert Recio and his family are reopening their |

| 6 | 7 | | popular Corpus Christi restaurant, Recio's Smokehouse and |

| 7 | 8 | | Catering, at a new location; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, At its former location on Kostoryz Road, this unique |

| 9 | 10 | | eatery has long been known for its mega-taco challenge; since 1999, |

| 10 | 11 | | hundreds of determined diners have tried to finish the restaurant's |

| 11 | 12 | | signature four-pound taco in 13 minutes; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Recio family are carrying on this tradition at |

| 13 | 14 | | the smokehouse's new location on Old Brownsville Road, where they |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | have also built an outdoor stage and dance floor in order to host |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | live entertainment; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Locally owned enterprises contribute greatly to the |

| 17 | 18 | | economic and cultural diversity of their communities, and the new |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | location of Recio's Smokehouse and Catering promises to attract |

| 19 | 20 | | both old and new customers; now, therefore, be it |

| 20 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 21 | 22 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the reopening of Recio's Smokehouse |

| 22 | 23 | | and Catering and extend sincere best wishes to Robert Recio and his |
