56 WHEREAS, Representatives of Texas affiliates of Easter Seals
67 are visiting the State Capitol on March 11, 2015; and
78 WHEREAS, Since its expansion to the state more than 75 years
89 ago, Easter Seals has become an important resource for Texas
910 children and adults with developmental disabilities; dedicated to
1011 helping individuals achieve greater independence and productivity,
1112 the organization offers outpatient medical rehabilitation,
1213 including occupational, physical, and speech and language therapy,
1314 as well as workforce development, respite care, and social
1415 services; and
1516 WHEREAS, This vital group is also committed to early
1617 identification and early intervention, services designed to give
1718 young people at risk of developmental delay, physical and mental
1819 disabilities, or autism the support they need to build essential
1920 skills; and
2021 WHEREAS, Easter Seals has helped to empower countless
2122 citizens to lead productive and rewarding lives, and its endeavors
2223 truly benefit the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
2324 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
2425 Legislature hereby recognize March 11, 2015, as Texas Easter Seals
2526 Day at the State Capitol and commend all those associated with the
2627 organization for their important work.
