| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Brianna Pena, a sophomore at Banquete High School, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Participating along with other of the brightest |

| 9 | 10 | | students in the area, Ms. Pena performed admirably at the district |

| 10 | 11 | | meet on November 11, 2014; this talented young Texan took the podium |

| 11 | 12 | | and discussed a wide range of proposals and topics, including using |

| 12 | 13 | | algae as biofuel and repealing the No Child Left Behind Act; she |

| 13 | 14 | | earned a bronze medal, and her finish qualified her to represent her |

| 14 | 15 | | school at the UIL 2nd State Congress in Austin in January 2015; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment, Brianna Pena |

| 16 | 17 | | has distinguished herself in UIL competition, and her |

| 17 | 18 | | accomplishments are a source of pride to her family and friends; |
