R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brianna Pena, a sophomore at Banquete High School,
achieved notable success in University Interscholastic League
Student Congress competition in 2014-2015; and
WHEREAS, Participating along with other of the brightest
students in the area, Ms. Pena performed admirably at the district
meet on November 11, 2014; this talented young Texan took the podium
and discussed a wide range of proposals and topics, including using
algae as biofuel and repealing the No Child Left Behind Act; she
earned a bronze medal, and her finish qualified her to represent her
school at the UIL 2nd State Congress in Austin in January 2015; and
WHEREAS, Through her hard work and commitment, Brianna Pena
has distinguished herself in UIL competition, and her
accomplishments are a source of pride to her family and friends;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Brianna Pena on her achievements in
UIL Student Congress debates in 2014-2015 and extend to her sincere
best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Pena as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
