H.R. No. 735
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Peter Salazar, firefighter II inspector, has been
named the 2015 Prevention Officer of the Year by the Corpus Christi
Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, The Corpus Christi Fire Department serves a
population of more than 300,000 and covers 170 square miles; the
Fire Prevention Bureau works to protect citizens from the loss of
life and property by educating the public about fire safety and
ensuring fire codes are enforced, among other responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Salazar joined the fire department in 1982 and
has spent most of the past 33 years with the Fire Prevention Bureau;
in addition to being a licensed peace officer, he is a certified
fire inspector and arson investigator, and through his exemplary
skill and dedication, he has made an immeasurable contribution to
the successful closing of a number of high profile fire cases; and
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career with the bureau, Peter
Salazar has greatly benefited the people of Corpus Christi, and he
has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow firefighters;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Firefighter II Inspector Peter
Salazar on being named the Corpus Christi Fire Department's 2015
Prevention Officer of the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Inspector Salazar as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
