| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Richard Meyer was named 2014 Man of the Year by the |

| 6 | 7 | | Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Meyer was a longtime cattle rancher in Calhoun |

| 8 | 9 | | County, and he is currently a cattle consultant for several clients |

| 9 | 10 | | in the area; he gives generously of his time and talents in behalf |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | of many community activities and organizations, serving as |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | president of the Calhoun County Cattleman's Association and as a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | member of the Calhoun County Rodeo Association; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan also works diligently in behalf |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | of the youth of Calhoun County, participating in the Calhoun County |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Youth Rodeo Association and the annual Calhoun County Youth |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Livestock Show; moreover, he is a volunteer at Hospice of South |

| 17 | 18 | | Texas; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Through his many worthwhile endeavors, Richard |

| 19 | 20 | | Meyer has made a positive difference in his community, and his |

| 20 | 21 | | achievements have earned him widespread admiration and |

| 21 | 22 | | appreciation; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |

| 23 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Richard Meyer on his selection as |
