H.R. No. 778
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Richard Meyer was named 2014 Man of the Year by the
Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Meyer was a longtime cattle rancher in Calhoun
County, and he is currently a cattle consultant for several clients
in the area; he gives generously of his time and talents in behalf
of many community activities and organizations, serving as
president of the Calhoun County Cattleman's Association and as a
member of the Calhoun County Rodeo Association; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan also works diligently in behalf
of the youth of Calhoun County, participating in the Calhoun County
Youth Rodeo Association and the annual Calhoun County Youth
Livestock Show; moreover, he is a volunteer at Hospice of South
Texas; and
WHEREAS, Through his many worthwhile endeavors, Richard
Meyer has made a positive difference in his community, and his
achievements have earned him widespread admiration and
appreciation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Richard Meyer on his selection as
2014 Man of the Year by the Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce and
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Meyer as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
