45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Collin Clark is retiring as superintendent of the
67 Cameron Independent School District at the end of the 2014-2015
78 school year, drawing to a close an outstanding career in public
89 education that has spanned three and a half decades; and
910 WHEREAS, After graduating from Texas A&M
1011 University--Commerce in 1980, Mr. Clark began his career in
1112 education as a teacher and coach with the Sulphur Springs school
1213 district; in 1986, he began teaching in Community ISD, where he
13- later transitioned to administration as a middle school
14- principal;
15- he returned to TAMU--Commerce to obtain his master's
16- degree in education administration, a goal that he accomplished in
17- 1992, and he went on to serve as a junior high principal in Celeste
18- ISD from 1996 until 2001, when he was appointed superintendent of
19- the district; and
14+ later transitioned to administration as a middle school principal;
15+ he returned to TAMU--Commerce to obtain his master's degree in
16+ education administration, a goal that he accomplished in 1992, and
17+ he went on to serve as a junior high principal in Celeste ISD from
18+ 1996 until 2001, when he was appointed superintendent of the
19+ district; and
2020 WHEREAS, Mr. Clark joined Cameron ISD as superintendent of
2121 schools in April 2011; in his time with the district, he has
2222 overseen a number of significant developments, including the
2323 implementation of enhanced safety measures and emergency planning
2424 and a greater emphasis on technology as an innovative classroom
2525 tool; in addition, he worked alongside the board of trustees to
2626 facilitate the improvement of district athletic facilities, and he
2727 helped secure the passage of a bond proposal funding the
28- construction of a new baseball field and new tennis courts at
29- C. H. Yoe High School and the renovation of the school's track and

3131 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Clark enjoys the love and
3232 encouragement of his wife, Dana, and their three children; as he
3333 prepares for his retirement, he is looking forward to spending more
3434 time with his loved ones, including his parents, who reside in
3535 Celeste; and
3636 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Collin Clark has led the way
3737 in fostering a supportive educational environment that helps
3838 students develop the skills and character needed to build
3939 fulfilling and productive lives, and he may reflect with pride on a
4040 job well done; now, therefore, be it
4141 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
4242 Legislature hereby congratulate Collin Clark on his retirement as
4343 superintendent of the Cameron Independent School District and
4444 extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
4545 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4646 prepared for Mr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4747 House of Representatives.
