| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Collin Clark is retiring as superintendent of the |

| 6 | 7 | | Cameron Independent School District at the end of the 2014-2015 |

| 7 | 8 | | school year, drawing to a close an outstanding career in public |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | education that has spanned three and a half decades; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Texas A&M |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | University--Commerce in 1980, Mr. Clark began his career in |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | education as a teacher and coach with the Sulphur Springs school |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | district; in 1986, he began teaching in Community ISD, where he |
|---|
| 13 | | - | later transitioned to administration as a middle school |
|---|
| 14 | | - | principal; |
|---|
| 15 | | - | he returned to TAMU--Commerce to obtain his master's |
|---|
| 16 | | - | degree in education administration, a goal that he accomplished in |
|---|
| 17 | | - | 1992, and he went on to serve as a junior high principal in Celeste |

| 18 | | - | ISD from 1996 until 2001, when he was appointed superintendent of |
|---|
| 19 | | - | the district; and |

|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and a greater emphasis on technology as an innovative classroom |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | tool; in addition, he worked alongside the board of trustees to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | facilitate the improvement of district athletic facilities, and he |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | helped secure the passage of a bond proposal funding the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | football field; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Clark enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | encouragement of his wife, Dana, and their three children; as he |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | prepares for his retirement, he is looking forward to spending more |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | time with his loved ones, including his parents, who reside in |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | Celeste; and |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Collin Clark has led the way |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | in fostering a supportive educational environment that helps |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | students develop the skills and character needed to build |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | fulfilling and productive lives, and he may reflect with pride on a |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Collin Clark on his retirement as |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | superintendent of the Cameron Independent School District and |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | prepared for Mr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
