 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Collin Clark is retiring as superintendent of the
 Cameron Independent School District at the end of the 2014-2015
 school year, drawing to a close an outstanding career in public
 education that has spanned three and a half decades; and
 WHEREAS, After graduating from Texas A&M
 University--Commerce in 1980, Mr. Clark began his career in
 education as a teacher and coach with the Sulphur Springs school
 district; in 1986, he began teaching in Community ISD, where he
 later transitioned to administration as a middle school
 principal;
 he returned to TAMU--Commerce to obtain his master's
 degree in education administration, a goal that he accomplished in
 1992, and he went on to serve as a junior high principal in Celeste
 ISD from 1996 until 2001, when he was appointed superintendent of
 the district; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Clark joined Cameron ISD as superintendent of
 schools in April 2011; in his time with the district, he has
 overseen a number of significant developments, including the
 implementation of enhanced safety measures and emergency planning
 and a greater emphasis on technology as an innovative classroom
 tool; in addition, he worked alongside the board of trustees to
 facilitate the improvement of district athletic facilities, and he
 helped secure the passage of a bond proposal funding the
 construction of a new baseball field and new tennis courts at
 C. H. Yoe High School and the renovation of the school's track and
 football field; and
 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Clark enjoys the love and
 encouragement of his wife, Dana, and their three children; as he
 prepares for his retirement, he is looking forward to spending more
 time with his loved ones, including his parents, who reside in
 Celeste; and
 WHEREAS, Throughout his career, Collin Clark has led the way
 in fostering a supportive educational environment that helps
 students develop the skills and character needed to build
 fulfilling and productive lives, and he may reflect with pride on a
 job well done; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Collin Clark on his retirement as
 superintendent of the Cameron Independent School District and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Clark as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
