| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Lauren Cochran, a sophomore at Lumberton High |

| 8 | 9 | | held on February 20 and 21, 2015, at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas |

| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Competing against some of the most talented swimmers |

| 11 | 12 | | from across the state, Ms. Cochran raced in the 5A 200-yard |

| 12 | 13 | | freestyle preliminaries before finishing in eighth place in the |

| 13 | 14 | | consolation finals with a time of 1 minute, 58.18 seconds; and |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, This gifted young Texan has enjoyed great success as |

| 15 | 16 | | a member of the swim team at Lumberton High, capturing District |

| 16 | 17 | | 22-4A titles in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events during |

| 17 | 18 | | her freshman year; moreover, she qualified for the 2015 state meet |

| 18 | 19 | | after winning the 200-yard freestyle at regionals with a personal |

| 19 | 20 | | best time of 1:57.56; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through her hard work and enduring commitment to |

| 21 | 22 | | excellence, Lauren Cochran has earned a place among the top high |

| 22 | 23 | | school swimmers in the Lone Star State, and she is indeed deserving |

| 23 | 24 | | of special recognition for her achievements; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
