 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Jack McLaughlin, a senior at Calallen High School in
 Corpus Christi, achieved great distinction at the University
 Interscholastic League Swimming & Diving State Meet, held at the
 Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin on February 20
 and 21, 2015; and
 WHEREAS, Making his fourth consecutive appearance in the
 state competition, Mr. McLaughlin recorded a time of 1 minute,
 39.85 seconds, in the 5A 200-yard freestyle event to take home the
 silver medal; he followed that impressive performance with another
 fine showing in the 100-yard butterfly race, finishing in second
 place with a time of 50.49 seconds to capture his second medal of
 the meet; and
 WHEREAS, This gifted young Texan will continue his career as
 a student-athlete at Texas Christian University, where he will
 compete as a member of the Horned Frogs swimming and diving program;
 and
 WHEREAS, Through hard work and superb athletic ability, Jack
 McLaughlin has earned a place among the top high school swimmers in
 the Lone Star State, and he is a source of great pride to his school
 and his community; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Jack McLaughlin on winning two
 silver medals at the 2015 UIL Swimming & Diving State Meet and
 extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
 further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. McLaughlin as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
