| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Sarah Gladys Adcox of Highlands on February 19, 2015, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The former Gladys Simmons was born on November 5, |

| 9 | 10 | | 1915, to S. F. and Reba Simmons; she enjoyed a rewarding marriage |

| 10 | 11 | | with her husband, the late Odell Burnett "Jack" Adcox, and was a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | devoted mother to her son, Jimmy Adcox, who also preceded her in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | death; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A longtime Highlands resident, this beloved woman |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | was known to many in the community as the "Queen of Highlands"; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Although Gladys Adcox will be deeply missed, she has |

| 16 | 17 | | left her family and friends with many cherished memories, and they |

| 17 | 18 | | will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |

| 18 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
