45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Sarah Gladys Adcox of Highlands on February 19, 2015, at
78 the age of 99; and
89 WHEREAS, The former Gladys Simmons was born on November 5,
910 1915, to S. F. and Reba Simmons; she enjoyed a rewarding marriage
1011 with her husband, the late Odell Burnett "Jack" Adcox, and was a
1112 devoted mother to her son, Jimmy Adcox, who also preceded her in
1213 death; and
1314 WHEREAS, A longtime Highlands resident, this beloved woman
1415 was known to many in the community as the "Queen of Highlands"; and
1516 WHEREAS, Although Gladys Adcox will be deeply missed, she has
1617 left her family and friends with many cherished memories, and they
1718 will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
1819 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
1920 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sarah Gladys Adcox and
2021 extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
2122 daughter-in-law, Neva Adcox; to her grandchildren, Dee and Mike
2223 Butler, Francis and Jimmy Sutton, Jack and Irene Adcox, Charlotte
2324 and H. W. Kilpatrick, and Tammie and Phylis Hicks; to her
2425 great-grandchildren, Chris Elizondo, Dane Wilcox, Brett, Brandon,
2526 and Brady Butler, Jeremy, Jamie, Keith, and Michael Sutton, Nikki
2627 Guzman, Dena Fardjami, Chance Adcox, Remington Adcox, Sam Lindsey,
2728 Sarah Leann Adcox, English Lancon, and Courtland, Cody, and Geneva
2829 Kilpatrick; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it

3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
3233 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sarah
3334 Gladys Adcox.
