H.R. No. 924 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the passing of Sarah Gladys Adcox of Highlands on February 19, 2015, at the age of 99; and WHEREAS, The former Gladys Simmons was born on November 5, 1915, to S. F. and Reba Simmons; she enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her husband, the late Odell Burnett "Jack" Adcox, and was a devoted mother to her son, Jimmy Adcox, who also preceded her in death; and WHEREAS, A longtime Highlands resident, this beloved woman was known to many in the community as the "Queen of Highlands"; and WHEREAS, Although Gladys Adcox will be deeply missed, she has left her family and friends with many cherished memories, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Sarah Gladys Adcox and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her daughter-in-law, Neva Adcox; to her grandchildren, Dee and Mike Butler, Francis and Jimmy Sutton, Jack and Irene Adcox, Charlotte and H. W. Kilpatrick, and Tammie and Phylis Hicks; to her great-grandchildren, Chris Elizondo, Dane Wilcox, Brett, Brandon, and Brady Butler, Jeremy, Jamie, Keith, and Michael Sutton, Nikki Guzman, Dena Fardjami, Chance Adcox, Remington Adcox, Sam Lindsey, Sarah Leann Adcox, English Lancon, and Courtland, Cody, and Geneva Kilpatrick; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sarah Gladys Adcox.
