| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in June 1989, MG's Pizza in Robstown is |

| 10 | 11 | | owned by Melody T. Garver, who manages the family-friendly business |

| 11 | 12 | | with the help of her 12 employees; over the years, the restaurant's |

| 12 | 13 | | pizza and sandwiches have gained a loyal following in Robstown and |

| 13 | 14 | | the surrounding area, and MG's Pizza gives back to the community by |

| 14 | 15 | | sponsoring area sports teams and contributing to fund-raising |

|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A longtime restaurateur, Ms. Garver continues a |

| 17 | 18 | | tradition of excellence that traces back to 1963, when her parents, |

| 18 | 19 | | Betty and Jerry Garver, started B&J's Pizza in Lake George, |

| 19 | 20 | | Michigan; the family also operated other locations in Michigan |

| 20 | 21 | | before moving to Texas in 1978 and opening a restaurant in Corpus |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, By creating jobs and helping to strengthen the |

| 23 | 24 | | economic environment of Robstown, MG's Pizza is contributing to the |

| 24 | 25 | | vitality of that community, and Melody Garver and her staff may |

| 25 | 26 | | indeed take pride in the restaurant's achievements over the course |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
