H.R. No. 98
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Dr. Bruce C. Rudy, an assistant professor of
business management at The University of Texas at San Antonio, has
been named a recipient of a 2014 Outstanding Teaching Award by The
University of Texas System Board of Regents; and
WHEREAS, Bruce Rudy discovered his calling as an educator in
2009, when he began his first teaching assignment while a doctoral
student at The University of Texas at Austin; after completing his
doctorate in strategic management, he joined the faculty of The
University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011; since then, he has
consistently scored high instructor ratings, demonstrating the
great admiration and respect he inspires in his students; and
WHEREAS, In addition to teaching, Dr. Rudy is a valued member
of several UTSA organizations, and he serves as a conference paper
reviewer for the Academy of Management, which recognized him in
2009 with the Best Reviewer Award; furthermore, he received the
Fred Moore Assistant Instructor Award for Teaching Excellence in
2010 from The University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of
Business, and his research has been published in the Journal of
Management; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Rudy enjoys the love and support of his wife,
Lydia, and their three children in all his endeavors; he resides
with his family in Dripping Springs; and
WHEREAS, Bruce Rudy has shown himself to be a dedicated and
creative educator, and he has equipped many students with the
knowledge and critical-thinking skills necessary to thrive in the
corporate world; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Bruce C. Rudy on his receipt of
a 2014 Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award and extend to him
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Dr. Rudy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
