66 AN ACT
77 relating to a prohibition against an employer providing certain
88 employee information to a labor union.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 101, Labor Code, is
1111 amended by adding Section 101.005 to read as follows:
1212 Sec. 101.005. RIGHT TO PRIVACY. An employer may not provide
1313 to a labor union, other than a labor union that is the exclusive
1414 representative of the employee, any personal information of an
1515 employee, including an employee's:
1616 (1) name;
1717 (2) job classification;
1818 (3) department;
1919 (4) salary;
2020 (5) telephone number;
2121 (6) e-mail address; and
2222 (7) home address.
2323 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
