9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Subchapter A, Chapter 101, Labor Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by adding Section 101.005 to read as follows: | |
12 | 12 | Sec. 101.005. RIGHT TO PRIVACY. An employer may not provide | |
13 | 13 | to a labor union, other than a labor union that is the exclusive | |
14 | 14 | representative of the employee, any personal information of an | |
15 | 15 | employee, including an employee's: | |
16 | 16 | (1) name; | |
17 | 17 | (2) job classification; | |
18 | 18 | (3) department; | |
19 | 19 | (4) salary; | |
20 | 20 | (5) telephone number; | |
21 | 21 | (6) e-mail address; and | |
22 | 22 | (7) home address. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
24 | 24 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
25 | 25 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
26 | 26 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
27 | 27 | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
