14 | 14 | | digital maps in connection with the county plat approval process. |

15 | 15 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

16 | 16 | | SECTION 1. Section 232.001, Local Government Code, is |
---|
17 | 17 | | amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
---|
18 | 18 | | (f) The commissioners court may require a plat application |
---|
19 | 19 | | submitted for approval to include a digital map that is compatible |
---|
20 | 20 | | with other mapping systems used by the county and that |
---|
21 | 21 | | georeferences approved subdivision plats and related |
---|
22 | 22 | | infrastructure. A digital map required under this subsection may |
---|
23 | 23 | | be required only in a format widely used by common geographic |
---|
24 | 24 | | information system software. A requirement adopted under this |
---|
25 | 25 | | subsection must provide for an exemption from the requirement if |
---|
26 | 26 | | the owner of the tract submits with the plat application an |
---|
27 | 27 | | acknowledged statement indicating that the digital mapping |
---|
28 | 28 | | technology necessary to submit a map that complies with this |
---|
29 | 29 | | subsection was not reasonably accessible. |

30 | 30 | | SECTION 2. Section 232.023, Local Government Code, is |
---|
31 | 31 | | amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: |
