1111 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
1212 AN ACT
1313 relating to authorizing counties to require the submission of
1414 digital maps in connection with the county plat approval process.
1515 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1616 SECTION 1. Section 232.001, Local Government Code, is
1717 amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
1818 (f) The commissioners court may require a plat application
1919 submitted for approval to include a digital map that is compatible
2020 with other mapping systems used by the county and that
2121 georeferences approved subdivision plats and related
2222 infrastructure. A digital map required under this subsection may
2323 be required only in a format widely used by common geographic
2424 information system software. A requirement adopted under this
2525 subsection must provide for an exemption from the requirement if
2626 the owner of the tract submits with the plat application an
2727 acknowledged statement indicating that the digital mapping
2828 technology necessary to submit a map that complies with this
2929 subsection was not reasonably accessible.
3030 SECTION 2. Section 232.023, Local Government Code, is
3131 amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
3232 (f) The commissioners court may require a plat application
