The bill would amend the Local Government Code to require certain procedures for adopting or amending a national model code, code to include the preparation of a cost-benefit analysis and two public hearing on the proposed adoption of or amendment to a national model code. The bill would require the procedures to be completed before any building code amendment could be adopted. The bill would repeal Section 214.217(b), Local Government Code. Local Government Impact There would be administrative costs to a local entity to comply with the provisions of the bill, including holding the public meetings, preparing the cost-benefit analysis and maintaining information on an Internet website.
