The bill would allow the State Board of Education (SBOE) to adopt rules to establish minimum standard for local procedures to adopt non-state adopted instructional materials purchased using state funds. The Texas Education Agency anticipates any additional work resulting from the passage of the bill could be reasonably absorbed within current resources. Local Government Impact School districts may incur administrative costs to comply with SBOE rules if the SBOE elected to adopt rules and districts elected to adopt non-state adopted instructional materials.
