| 10 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 12 | 10 | | is amended by adding Section 225.0286 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 11 | | Sec. 225.0286. WORLD WAR II VETERANS 349TH REGT. 88TH INF. |
|---|
| 14 | 12 | | DIV. MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 83 in |
|---|
| 15 | 13 | | Hidalgo County between its intersection with North Inspiration Road |
|---|
| 16 | 14 | | and its intersection with South Stewart Road is designated as the |
|---|
| 17 | 15 | | World War II Veterans 349th Regt. 88th Inf. Div. Memorial Highway. |
|---|
| 18 | 16 | | The designation is in addition to any other designation. |
|---|
| 19 | 17 | | (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall: |
|---|
| 20 | 18 | | (1) design and construct markers indicating the |
|---|
| 21 | 19 | | designation as the World War II Veterans 349th Regt. 88th Inf. Div. |
|---|
| 22 | 20 | | Memorial Highway and any other appropriate information; and |
|---|
| 23 | 21 | | (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at |
|---|
| 24 | 22 | | appropriate intermediate sites along the highway. |
|---|
| 25 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 26 | 24 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 27 | 25 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 28 | 26 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 29 | 27 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
