108 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
119 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
1210 is amended by adding Section 225.0286 to read as follows:
1311 Sec. 225.0286. WORLD WAR II VETERANS 349TH REGT. 88TH INF.
1412 DIV. MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) The portion of State Highway 83 in
1513 Hidalgo County between its intersection with North Inspiration Road
1614 and its intersection with South Stewart Road is designated as the
1715 World War II Veterans 349th Regt. 88th Inf. Div. Memorial Highway.
1816 The designation is in addition to any other designation.
1917 (b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
2018 (1) design and construct markers indicating the
2119 designation as the World War II Veterans 349th Regt. 88th Inf. Div.
2220 Memorial Highway and any other appropriate information; and
2321 (2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at
2422 appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
2523 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2624 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2725 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2826 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2927 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
