77 relating to the dedication of revenue received from certain court
88 costs to the truancy prevention and diversion fund.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Articles 102.015(a) and (g), Code of Criminal
1111 Procedure, as added by Chapter 1213 (S.B. 1419), Acts of the 83rd
1212 Legislature, Regular Session, 2013, are reenacted to read as
1313 follows:
1414 (a) The truancy prevention and diversion fund is a dedicated
1515 account in the general revenue fund.
1616 (g) The comptroller shall deposit the funds received under
1717 this article to the credit of a dedicated account in the general
1818 revenue fund to be known as the truancy prevention and diversion
1919 fund. The legislature may appropriate money from the account only
2020 to the criminal justice division of the governor's office for
2121 distribution to local governmental entities for truancy prevention
2222 and intervention services.
2323 SECTION 2. Notwithstanding Chapter 839 (H.B. 6), Acts of
2424 the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session, 2013, money dedicated by
2525 Article 102.015(g), Code of Criminal Procedure, as added by Chapter
2626 1213 (S.B. 1419), Acts of the 83rd Legislature, Regular Session,
2727 2013, to the truancy prevention and diversion fund established by
2828 Article 102.015, Code of Criminal Procedure, is rededicated by this
2929 Act.
3030 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3131 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3232 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
3333 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
3434 Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
