| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter E, Chapter 130, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 130.0827 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 130.0827. GOVERNING BOARD OF TRINITY VALLEY COMMUNITY |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | COLLEGE DISTRICT. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | chapter, the governing board of the Trinity Valley Community |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | College District may by resolution or order of the governing board |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | increase the number of board members to 11. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) A resolution or order of the governing board under this |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | section must: |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (1) establish transition terms of office to conform to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | elections held in even-numbered years and staggered six-year terms; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) require the initial board members to draw lots to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | determine the members' terms, with: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (A) five members serving terms of two years; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (B) three members serving terms of four years; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (C) three members serving terms of six years. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
