7	5		relating to the placement of military occupational specialty codes
8	6		on certain notices of state agency employment openings.
9	7		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
10	8		SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 654, Government Code, is
11	9		amended by adding Section 654.0375 to read as follows:
12	10		Sec. 654.0375. MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY CODE
13	11		IDENTIFICATION; REPORT. (a) Each state fiscal biennium the
14	12		classification officer shall research and identify the military
15	13		occupational specialty code for each branch of the armed forces of
16	14		the United States that corresponds to each position contained in
17	15		the state's position classification plan.
18	16		(b) The classification officer shall report the findings
19	17		under Subsection (a) in the manner provided by Section
20	18		654.037(a)(2).
21	19		(c) The classification officer may request the assistance
22	20		of the Texas Veterans Commission in performing a duty required
23	21		under this section. The Texas Veterans Commission shall provide
24	22		the requested assistance.
25	23		SECTION 2. Subchapter A, Chapter 656, Government Code, is
26	24		amended by adding Section 656.002 to read as follows:
27	25		Sec. 656.002. MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY CODES ON
28	26		NOTICES OF EMPLOYMENT OPENINGS. A state agency shall include on all
29	27		forms and notices related to a state agency employment opening the
30	28		military occupational specialty code for each branch of the armed
31	29		forces of the United States, identified as provided by Section
32	30		654.0375, that corresponds to the employment opening if the duties
33	31		of the available position correlate with a military occupational
34	32		specialty.
35	33		SECTION 3. Section 656.023, Government Code, is amended to
36	34		read as follows:
37	35		Sec. 656.023. JOB INFORMATION FORMS. (a) The commission
38	36		shall prescribe the forms for information from state agencies
39	37		necessary for the commission to serve as a central processing
40	38		agency for state agency job opportunities in Travis County.
41	39		(b) A form prescribed by the commission under Subsection (a)
42	40		must include a space for a state agency to list a military
43	41		occupational specialty code as provided by Section 656.002.
44	42		SECTION 4. Section 656.002, Government Code, as added by
45	43		this Act, applies only to a form or notice relating to an employment
46	44		opening published or delivered on or after the effective date of
47	45		this Act. A form or notice published or delivered before that date
48	46		is governed by the law in effect on the date the form or notice was
49	47		published or delivered, and the former law is continued in effect
50	48		for that purpose.
51	49		SECTION 5. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
