55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the marketing and advertising of the veterans'
88 assistance lottery game.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 466.027, Government Code, is amended by
1111 adding Subsections (d-1) and (f) and amending Subsection (e) to
1212 read as follows:
1313 (d-1) The commission shall produce and place printed
1414 point-of-sale advertising materials promoting the lottery game
1515 operated under this section at each licensed location that provides
1616 appropriate, lottery-dedicated space to display the materials.
1717 (e) The commission shall include on the commission's
1818 Internet website a dedicated page that:
1919 (1) features the game operated under this section;
2020 (2) provides information on the benefits provided to
2121 veterans through funding from the game; and
2222 (3) is accessible by a prominent link on the main page
2323 of the commission's website.
2424 (f) No organization that would otherwise be eligible to
2525 receive funds from the state lottery account attributable to any
2626 lottery game authorized by this section may receive any such funds
2727 if it conducts illegal gambling or the illegal operation of
2828 gambling devices as defined by Chapter 47, Penal Code, or allows
2929 illegal gambling or the illegal operation of gambling devices to be
3030 conducted on its property or in its facilities.
3131 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
