                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            March 24, 2015      TO: Honorable Robert Nichols, Chair, Senate Committee on Transportation      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB449 by Bettencourt (Relating to the definition of a motorcycle.), As Introduced    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend Chapter 541 of the Transportation Code, regarding definitions for rules of the road, to change the definition of a motorcycle.Based on the information provided by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), the change to the definition of motorcycle would authorize the titling and registration of certain types of vehicles for road use that are not currently eligible. Based on the analysis of DMV and the Comptroller's office, it is assumed implementation of the bill would not result in a significant impact to state revenue and any costs could be absorbed within the DMV's existing resources. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
