9	5		A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
10	6		AN ACT
11	7		relating to the eligibility of Elite Rodeo Association World
12	8		Championships for funding from the Major Events trust fund.
13	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
14	10		SECTION 1. Sections 5A(a)(4) and (5), Chapter 1507 (S.B.
15	11		456), Acts of the 76th Legislature, Regular Session, 1999 (Article
16	12		5190.14, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes), are amended to read as
17	13		follows:
18	14		(4) "Event" means a Super Bowl, a National Collegiate
19	15		Athletic Association Final Four tournament game, the National
20	16		Basketball Association All-Star Game, the X Games, the National
21	17		Hockey League All-Star Game, the Major League Baseball All-Star
22	18		Game, a game of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Bowl
23	19		Championship Series or its successor or a National Collegiate
24	20		Athletic Association Division I Football Bowl Subdivision
25	21		postseason playoff or championship game, a World Cup Soccer game,
26	22		the World Games, an Elite Rodeo Association World Championship, a
27	23		national collegiate championship of an amateur sport sanctioned by
28	24		the national governing body of the sport that is recognized by the
29	25		United States Olympic Committee, an Olympic activity, including a
30	26		Junior or Senior activity, training program, or feeder program
31	27		sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee's Community
32	28		Olympic Development Program, a mixed martial arts championship, the
33	29		Breeders' Cup World Championships, a Formula One automobile race,
34	30		the Academy of Country Music Awards, the National Cutting Horse
35	31		Association Triple Crown, a national political convention of the
36	32		Republican National Committee or the Democratic National
37	33		Committee, or the largest event held each year at a sports
38	34		entertainment venue in this state with a permanent seating
39	35		capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of not less
40	36		than 125,000. The term includes any activities related to or
41	37		associated with an event.
42	38		(5) "Site selection organization" means:
43	39		(A) the National Football League, the National
44	40		Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Basketball
45	41		Association, the National Hockey League, Major League Baseball, the
46	42		Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the
47	43		International World Games Association, the Elite Rodeo
48	44		Association, or the United States Olympic Committee;
49	45		(B) the national governing body of a sport that
50	46		is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee, the National
51	47		Thoroughbred Racing Association, Formula One Management Limited,
52	48		or the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile;
53	49		(C) the Academy of Country Music;
54	50		(D) the National Cutting Horse Association; or
55	51		(E) the Republican National Committee or the
56	52		Democratic National Committee.
57	53		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
58	54		a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
59	55		provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
60	56		Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
61	57		Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
