| 16 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 17 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 44, Education Code, is |

| 18 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 44.905 to read as follows: |

| 19 | 13 | | Sec. 44.905. PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COSTS. |
|---|
| 20 | 14 | | (a) Not later than December 1, 2016, the agency shall provide to |
|---|
| 21 | 15 | | the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the members of the |
|---|
| 22 | 16 | | legislature a report containing: |
|---|
| 23 | 17 | | (1) the amount paid for property and casualty |
|---|
| 24 | 18 | | insurance per student in average daily attendance by each school |
|---|
| 25 | 19 | | district and open-enrollment charter school; and |
|---|
| 26 | 20 | | (2) the statewide average amount paid by school |
|---|
| 27 | 21 | | districts and open-enrollment charter schools for property and |
|---|
| 28 | 22 | | casualty insurance per student in average daily attendance. |
|---|
| 29 | 23 | | (b) This section expires September 1, 2017. |
|---|
| 30 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015. |
