115 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
126 AN ACT
137 relating to a report made by the Texas Education Agency regarding
148 the property and casualty insurance costs of school districts and
159 open-enrollment charter schools.
1610 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1711 SECTION 1. Subchapter Z, Chapter 44, Education Code, is
1812 amended by adding Section 44.905 to read as follows:
1913 Sec. 44.905. PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COSTS.
2014 (a) Not later than December 1, 2016, the agency shall provide to
2115 the governor, the lieutenant governor, and the members of the
2216 legislature a report containing:
2317 (1) the amount paid for property and casualty
2418 insurance per student in average daily attendance by each school
2519 district and open-enrollment charter school; and
2620 (2) the statewide average amount paid by school
2721 districts and open-enrollment charter schools for property and
2822 casualty insurance per student in average daily attendance.
2923 (b) This section expires September 1, 2017.
3024 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2015.
