                    LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD    Austin, Texas      FISCAL NOTE, 84TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION            May 1, 2015      TO: Honorable Susan Lewis King, Chair, House Committee on Defense & Veterans' Affairs      FROM: Ursula Parks, Director, Legislative Budget Board     IN RE:SB850 by Taylor, Van (Relating to a public duty justification for conduct of a service member of the Texas military forces.), As Engrossed    No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.  The bill would amend the Government Code to specify that public duty as it relates to a justification excluding criminal responsibility would apply to the conduct of an activated service member of the Texas Military Forces that is performed in the service member's official capacity.The Texas Military Department anticipates no significant fiscal impact as the result of implementation of the bill.The bill would take effect immediately upon a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, or September 1, 2015.
