54 SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
65 WHEREAS, It is a time-honored custom that the portrait of
76 each outgoing Governor of the State of Texas be hung in the Texas
87 Capitol along with those of previous Texas governors; and
98 WHEREAS, The term of Governor Rick Perry, 47th Governor of
109 the State of Texas, has drawn to a close; now, therefore, be it
1110 RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, the House of
1211 Representatives concurring, That the 84th Legislature direct that a
1312 suitable portrait of Governor Rick Perry be placed in an
1413 appropriate location in the Texas Capitol with the portraits of
1514 other governors of Texas; the portrait and the charge for such
1615 portrait may be made by an artist agreeable with Governor Perry, the
1716 lieutenant governor, the Chairman of the Committee on
1817 Administration of the Senate, the speaker of the house of
1918 representatives, and the Chairman of the House Administration
2019 Committee; before the portrait is accepted and placed by the State
2120 Preservation Board, it shall have the approval of the lieutenant
2221 governor, the Chairman of the Committee on Administration of the
2322 Senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, and the
2423 Chairman of the House Administration Committee; and, be it further
2524 RESOLVED, That a sufficient sum of money be provided through
2625 the Committee on Administration of the Senate and the House
2726 Administration Committee of the House of Representatives to pay the
2827 artist's charges for the portrait.
