| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, Laurie M. Glaze is retiring as the founding |

| 3 | 3 | | executive director of One Voice Texas in June 2015, and this |

| 4 | 4 | | occasion provides an ideal opportunity to recognize her for an |

| 5 | 5 | | exemplary career spanning three decades in health and human |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | services; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, In 2003, One Voice Texas was established to unite |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | the efforts of health and human services organizations striving |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | to meet community needs in a time of scarce resources; under the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | leadership of Laurie Glaze, the organization has grown to include |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | more than 100 member organizations working together to develop |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | systemic solutions and create sustainable models for the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | delivery of services; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She previously served as managing director of |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Adoptation, a collaborative of eight child-placing agencies and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Harris County Children's Protective Services; in 2007, she was |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | named Texas Social Worker of the Year by the National Association |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of Social Workers, and in 2009, she received the Advocate of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Year Award from the Houston Area Association for the Education of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Young Children, as well as the SAVVY SISTER Award from Houston |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Woman Magazine; she holds a master's degree in social work from |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | the University of Houston; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Through her vision, skill, and dedication, Laurie |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Glaze has earned the respect and admiration of the health and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | human services community, and as she embarks on the next exciting |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | chapter of her life, she may indeed take pride in her |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 84th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby honor Laurie Glaze on the occasion of her |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | retirement as executive director of One Voice Texas and extend to |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared |
